In the heartland, we look out
for each other.
Abortion funds are here for you.
Abortion has become a lot harder to access in the Midwest. Last fall, Indiana passed a law that makes it nearly impossible for Hoosiers to get abortions in-state. But you still have rights!
You have the right to get information about your options, find a clinic in another state that can still see you, and talk to people who can provide travel assistance, funding, and support. That’s where we come in.
The Chicago Abortion Fund, All-Options Hoosier Abortion Fund, and WMF Wisconsin are here to help you, with compassion and without judgment. We are independent abortion funds that provide financial, logistical, and emotional support to people who need abortions across the Midwest.
If you need an abortion – we care, we’ll listen, and we’ll help you get the care you deserve.
About Heartland Abortion Funds
Chicago Abortion Fund
The Chicago Abortion Fund (CAF) isn't just an organization; we're a movement. For 38 years, we've been tearing down barriers to abortion care in Chicago, the Midwest, and beyond. We're not just providing funding; we're supporting our callers in accessing freedom, dignity, and autonomy.
CAF offers support for clients seeking abortions including, procedure funding and related needs like childcare, emotional support and logistical expertise. The organization has relationships with 75+ abortion clinics across 12 states, and supports people nationwide. CAF has supported more than 15,000 callers since the Dobbs decision with over $5.4 million in aid.
All-Options
Hoosier Abortion Fund
Since 2015, the All-Options Hoosier Abortion Fund has helped more than 5,000 people in Indiana find and pay for abortion care. This includes the nearly 1 in 3 Hoosiers who were forced to travel out of state even before Indiana's 2023 abortion ban went into effect.
“The All-Options Hoosier Abortion Fund made the process so easy and took a lot of weight off my shoulders. The representative I spoke with referred me to an amazing place, and she was very sweet, making me more comfortable. Without the funding, I don’t know what I would have done. I’m so thankful for organizations like these, and can’t wait until I’m in a position to donate back!” — Hoosier Abortion Fund client
In addition to the Hoosier Abortion Fund, All-Options supports people through our Hoosier Diaper Program, nationwide Talkline, and Faith Aloud spiritual care counseling line. We provide open-hearted, judgment-free support to people in all of their reproductive experiences, including pregnancy, parenting, abortion, adoption, miscarriage, and infertility.
WMF Wisconsin
Founded in 1972 as Women's Medical Fund, WMF Wisconsin has supported Wisconsin residents in paying for abortion care for over 50 years.
WMF supports Wisconsin residents who have an abortion (either in or outside of Wisconsin) and people from neighboring states who have an abortion at a Wisconsin clinic. WMF Wisconsin works to fill the gaps in abortion access by providing financial assistance to Wisconsin residents who need an abortion but cannot afford the full cost.
WMF Wisconsin also educates and organizes for abortion access, aiming to shift the culture around abortion from stigma, isolation, and shame to love, community, and compassion.

Join the Movement
When we need abortion care, we should be met with love — that’s the home we want for ourselves, our families, and all Midwesterners. But politics and stigma have gotten in the way of what’s important, like providing people with access to the healthcare and support they need to make the pregnancy and parenting decisions that are right for them.
The Chicago Abortion Fund, All-Options Hoosier Abortion Fund, and WMF Wisconsin believe that abortion access, pregnancy support, and parenting resources should all be available to people when they need it. Join us in building a Midwest where every person is supported with dignity and compassion.

Accessing abortion care in the United States has always been a challenge, despite legal protections at both federal and state levels. Even before Roe was overturned, people have experienced financial and logistical barriers to abortion. To combat these challenges, abortion funds have emerged as crucial resources, providing material support for expenses like appointments, travel, accommodations, and childcare.
In partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine, the All-Options’ Hoosier Abortion Fund, the Chicago Abortion Fund, and Kentucky Health Justice Network, Ibis Reproductive Health measured the experiences of more than 400 Hoosiers trying to get abortions between June 2021 and June 2022 to understand how abortion funds impacted their experiences seeking care in Indiana.
Among other key takeaways, the Hoosier Abortion Access Study found that although cost was a significant barrier for Hoosiers seeking abortion, many were not aware of the support they could receive from abortion funds. We also found that abortion seekers who received financial support from abortion funds were more likely to get abortions than those who did not receive support from abortion funds. In addition to financial support, abortion seekers also received invaluable logistical and emotional support from abortion funds, who work in partnership with each other and abortion providers to get Hoosiers the care that they need.
